Winnipeg Data Science & Open Data Datathon

We co-sponsor the Winnipeg Open Data Datathon alongside the City of Winnipeg and Launch Coworking, helping organize the event as part of the International Open Data Day.

During the Winnipeg Open Data Datathon, students, professionals, and curious newcomers team up at Launch Coworking to turn real open datasets (like the City of Winnipeg planning PPD datasets) into practical insights, building dashboards, visualizations, and ideas that support our community.

In 2025, the Datathon welcomed over 190 attendees, making it one of the largest open data events in the city so far. The event wrapped up with lightning talks, judging, prizes, and plenty of time to meet other data enthusiasts, students, and industry professionals.
